Mikko Hirvonen claims his first victory in Neste Oil Rally Finland

Neste Oil Rally Finland ended with a fantastic result for the Finns. Mikko Hirvonen took the first place and Jari-Matti Latvala had a solid drive into third. For the first time during his rallying career, Hirvonen stepped on the highest podium in Neste Oil Rally Finland. With his victory, the Ford driver strengthened his lead in the Championship and has now got 68 points.

Sebastien Loeb, the reigning champion, who claimed his first victory in Neste Oil Rally Finland last year, was right behind Hirvonen in second place. The Citroen driver was eventually +25,1 seconds behind Hirvonen. The third place was taken by Jari-Matti Latvala, who lost 49,9 seconds to Hirvonen.

The most points in J-WRC were collected by the Czech Martin Prokop on Citroen. Kalle Pinomäki from Finland was also after the top points and followed right behind Prokop all through the event. Finally, he had to give in and satisfy for the second place in the J-WRC.
